THANK JESUS FOR HIS BROKEN BODY

Luke 22:19 And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me”

The last time we saw Jesus taking bread, breaking it and thanking the Father, is when He was feeding multitudes upon the mountainside. What an amazing miracle of provision. Jesus received the few loaves and fish, lifts his head towards heaven and thanks the Father. We then witness a powerful miracle of multiplication!

Well, if you thought that was amazing, it is nothing in size and magnitude to when Jesus was celebrating the Passover with the 12 disciples.

The first Passover occurred in Exodus 12 and we see the power of the broken body in the dialogue between the Lord God and Moses. Moses is told that all of Israel was to take some of the blood of lambs and put it upon their doors and then to eat the roasted body of the lambs. The blood was for their protection from death and the roasted body of the lamb was for their nourishment and health as they journeyed into the wilderness.

So, on the night of the Passover meal, when Jesus took the bread declaring it as His body, He gave thanks and instructed the disciples to digest it in remembrance of Him. They knew exactly what He was saying. They had never seen Him sick and they knew it was for their nourishment and health.

Jesus is teaching us a powerful practice through the Passover meal that we can participate in every time we partake of Holy Communion - whether daily, weekly or monthly.

Whenever you take the two elements representing Christ’s blood and body, thank Jesus not only for the forgiveness of sin and power of protection the blood of Jesus brings but the provision of healing and well-being in your body for you and your entire family!

As a family, we take Holy Communion regularly remembering that Jesus is our source of provision, protection, salvation, well-being, and health. It is not only a reminder of the work of Christ on the cross but the same power that brought Israel salvation, provision, protection, and health back then, is the same power that brings all these to you. It is Jesus.

What Jesus did with His 12 disciples is now performed and practiced around the world. Jesus may have fed the 5,000 men with a few loaves performing an amazing miracle, but today He is providing for hundreds of millions of people around the world, which is a daily ongoing miracle.

Thank the Lord for His broken body upon the cross, for the stripes He received upon His back and for the chastisement of His peace. It is so you can receive health and healing here today by faith. The more you thank Him the deeper your revelation becomes and the more you will walk in His health and abundant life!
