GOD-CONSCIOUS

1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not a spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

When you receive Christ, you are receiving His Spirit or the Spirit of God.

It says in this scripture we have received the Spirit of God that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. Romans 8:16 says the Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. John 16 talks about the Holy Spirit guiding us into truth and that He reveals to us what Christ has done for us.

These Scriptures reveal an essential purpose of the Holy Spirit; He has been given to help you become God-conscious.

Have you ever wondered why David, with just a sling and a few stones, was able to defeat the giant, while an entire, trained army dared not even face him? David’s secret is that he was God-conscious. He was conscious that God was with him and would bring him victory. He remembered the times gone by when God delivered him from a bear and a lion.

Goliath was physically stronger, and his army was great in numbers, but David was conscious that Goliath was no match for His God. And this was the secret to his success – he carried a God-consciousness all the time.

What enemies or circumstances are looming over your life right now and seem to be surrounding you from every side? Like David, be conscious of your God who is stronger and greater than anything surrounding you.

God promised Abraham that he would become a great nation and give him a great name. Yet after decades, Abraham and Sarah still didn’t have the promised child. Worse still, their bodies were dead – they were past childbearing age. But Abraham carried a God-consciousness which caused him to never waver in his faith. He continued to believe God.

And this was the secret to Abraham’s success.

What promises are delayed in your life? What breakthroughs have you been waiting for? Regardless of how long is taking for something to happen, continue to be conscious that God will fulfill His promises in your life.

Let me encourage you to be like David and Abraham, always be conscious of God and His faithfulness. Don’t feed on the negative, cynical words of man or the devil. It will only cause you to be anxious and fearful. Feed on God through the Scriptures every day.

Don’t just open the Bible to read it – open the Bible to feed upon the Word of God. Become conscious of God feeding you through His Word. Mix faith with what you are reading by believing it.

Pray in your heavenly language daily. Every time you do you become conscious of the Holy Spirit helping you pray – and releasing the power of God into your situation.
