Galatians 3:5 I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ.
The power of God flows through your believing, not your ability to obey rules!
Paul reveals to you in this scripture how to receive miracles from God. To the Jewish people he was writing to, it was not because they obeyed the law! Let’s unpack that statement: it was not because of the sacrifice and effort they made to go to the temple and pray for long hours, fast for long hours, or even obey all the Ten Commandments, etc. Paul says miracles come because you believe the good news you hear about Christ.
For you and me today, miracles are not a direct result of how long you have prayed and fasted or how diligent you have been serving God in church or how long you have been sacrificing for His kingdom. These are good things and have a purpose in your life, but these are not the key to receiving a miracle.
Your miracle is received because you believe what you hear about Jesus.
This was true for a woman who had a physical infirmity in her body for 12 years. You can read about the story in Mark 5:25-34. She had spent all her money on doctors but the disease only grew worse. One day she heard about Jesus healing people, just by His touch! Once she heard this she said to herself ‘if I can just touch Him, I will be healed’.
When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”
And this woman was healed just by touching Jesus! Her miracle was not the result of how long she had been praying or fasting. It wasn’t the result of anything she did except believe what she heard about Jesus.
Many Believers today are trapped and deceived into thinking their healing is based upon certain things they do – how long they pray, or fast or sacrifice. And if it doesn’t come, they will think it is because they are not doing something right or long enough – so they “push-in” even harder!
Can you see how this is just a form of works? Listen, my friend, your healing is not based on anything about you! It's 100% based on believing what Jesus has done for you.
This woman did none of these things. All she did was believe what she heard about Jesus. She wasn’t even conscious of “faith” – she was only aware of Jesus' grace to heal. There’s the revelation – when you see Jesus' grace, He will see your faith!
Right here, right now, forget everything you have read and heard about healing and just focus on what you have heard about Jesus!
Don’t look to the healing or whatever miracle you need. Just look to Jesus and believe He is your healer. Don’t even check whether you have received your miracle immediately or not. Just believe that you have and continue with this every day. One day, without you even knowing when, you will be healed!
