GRACE IS THE TRUTH THAT SETS YOU FREE

John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

The law was given, but grace and truth came freely in the form of a Person, Jesus.

The law is cold and impersonal – it came on two tablets of stone. But grace and truth are warmly personal because they came through the Person of Jesus Christ. The law has no mercy and only enforces its requirements. But grace and truth are full of the mercies of God.

Whenever the devil tries to accuse you, he can only come at you through the law – his condemnation is to show you how you fell short of the law. But the truth is you are no longer under law but under grace (Romans 6:14). And even if you did fail one or more of the laws of God, you cannot be condemned because Jesus was condemned on your behalf!

Understand that the deepest root that Jesus came to uproot, is condemnation.

Romans 8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Condemnation is the deepest root of all our troubles because it began in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, incurring an evil conscience and condemnation, robbing them of a relationship and intimacy with God.

Today, the whole world is still condemned and robbed of a relationship with God and they have no solution themselves for the devil’s work of keeping them blinded in their condemnation (2 Corinthians 4:4).

But you do not need to be blinded to the truth. Whenever you are feeling condemned, know that it comes from the devil and also know that Jesus' blood has paid for the penalty of all your sin and there is now no condemnation for you.

Some Believers make the mistake of thinking the Holy Spirit is condemning them, but He doesn’t. He is God and God does not condemn. What the Holy Spirit does is remind you of what Jesus did for you upon the cross. The Holy Spirit only convicts the Believer of their righteousness in Christ.

Jesus made this very clear. John 16:8-11 And when He (Holy Spirit) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Of sin, because they do not believe in me. Of righteousness because I go to My father. Of judgment because the ruler of this world (the devil) is judged.

This Scripture reveals that the Holy Spirit doesn’t condemn, He convicts. He convicts the world of sin, that is the sin of unbelief. He convicts the Believer of righteousness, that is the gift of righteousness through Christ. He convicts the devil of his coming judgment.

So don't allow your mind to come under any condemnation or accusations from the enemy. Know where these come from and learn to dismiss them as quickly as they come.
