Romans 5:17 For if by one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
God has made His grace abundantly available and given you His gift of righteousness so you can reign in this life through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Reign is the Greek word “Basileuo” meaning ‘a kingly or judicial rule’. It doesn’t mean you will live like a king or queen in control of a monarchy. But you will reign in life like a king or queen over the powers of sin and darkness in this world.
All the world is held captive to the powers of sin and darkness by the devil.
Luke 4:6-7 And he (Satan) said to him (Jesus), “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
These Scriptures reveal the power the devil has over the world today. But through God’s grace and the gift of His righteousness, Jesus enables you to reign in this life, over all the powers of the enemy. This is the freedom that Jesus has purchased for the Believer. It's a freedom that releases you from the entrapment of sin and darkness of the devil enabling you to reign in life over sin, sickness, disease, and depression, over poverty, lack, fear and condemnation.
Your ability to reign only comes by the grace and righteousness of Christ. This is the truth you need to get a revelation of in your heart!
So many Believers today think reigning in this life is based on:
Their family background or where they were born;
Their level of education or where they studied;
Their level of remuneration and who they work for;
What they look like or their talents and abilities.
But reigning in life is dependent on One Person only and that is Jesus. Jesus is the key to you reigning in life. So even if you were not born into status or educated in the right school or you don’t work for the right brands and even if you are only a one-talent person – don’t worry! Jesus is your guarantee that you are destined to reign in this life.
Rest in Him, trust in Him and He will prosper you in this life!
