SUCCESS BY GRACE

Zechariah 4:6-7 ...'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty - you will succeed because of my Spirit, though you are few and weak.' Therefore no mountain, however high, can stand before Zerubbabel! ...And Zerubbabel will finish building this Temple with mighty shouts of thanksgiving for God's mercy, declaring that all was done by grace alone."

It is not by your might or your ability but it is by the Spirit of God that you will succeed! Even if you are few in numbers or weak compared to others, you will still succeed.

This is a great promise for you and I today.

You might not have the best results coming out of school. You might not be the smartest, the strongest or the most connected – but you can certainly become the most successful. Why? Because the Spirit of God is mighty and will cause you to succeed.

Success with God is not contained to your gifts or abilities, or your intellect or strength. It is linked to something else. The Holy Spirit is the One who works with you bringing you that success or victory. But it is because of something else that you are positioned to walk in success and victory.

Verse 7 reveals what that something else is.

It says that there is “no mountain too high” and I’ll add, “no valley too low” that can stop you. In other words, there is no obstacle that can prevent you from being successful in whatever you put your hand to. Verse 7 reveals why? Because of God’s Grace.

It says that Zerubbabel will finish building the Temple because it is all being done by the grace of God. In this story, the House of God was being rebuilt and there was so much opposition, but it didn’t matter how great this opposition was – that temple was going to be built because there is no mountain or no obstacle too great for God’s grace.

And in your life, God’s grace and favor has been poured out in unlimited supply in the person of Jesus. And it doesn’t matter how great the resistance or obstacle against you might be in finding a job, in securing a job, in getting married, or owning your own home – the grace of God over your life will bring you success in every area of your life!

2 Corinthians 9:8 is the promise that you need to stand on every day:

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”.

What a powerful promise! Every time you step out in faith, just keep looking to the goodness of God’s grace - it will abound towards you, supplying every need in your life.
