SUCCESS - MAGNIFY THE LORD

Psalm 34:3 Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

One of the reasons we may not encounter God to the levels of our desire is because we see God too small.

David says to magnify the Lord.

He is not saying that you are to make God bigger, but you are to see Him bigger. When we look at a star through a telescope, we don’t make the star bigger but we see the star bigger. Likewise, we are called to see God bigger.

God’s Word is your magnifying glass! That is how you will see God bigger. As you meditate upon His scriptures, God not only comes alive within your spirit, your faith rises where you see Him bigger than anything else.

When we see God bigger, everything in our life will become bigger because we will rise up with faith in a big God, not a small God. The Bible tells us that ‘nothing is impossible for God (Luke 1:37). It says ‘greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world’ (1 John 4:4). It says, ‘God works in all things for your good’ (Romans 8:28). These are all telling you that your God is bigger, greater and more powerful than whatever mountain or giant that stands in your way.

When we see God too small, we take things into our own hands and start believing in order to be successful, we need more money, more credentials, more opportunities, more clients or more time or even to work harder. Now not all these things are bad, but they are exactly how the world thinks. As Believers – we need a bigger revelation of Christ in our life and His righteousness and then we will have everything we need (Matthew 6:33).

Ephesians 1:3 tells us we have received every blessing in Christ. He is your source and your supplier and a greater revelation of Christ will produce greater levels of success and blessing in your life!

When a church sees God too small, it becomes overwhelmed by the culture of its environment. Instead of transforming the city, the city dictates the tone of the church and whatever rules the city rules the church. To be a great church all you need is for that church to see God as bigger, greater and more powerful than the city. The greatness of a church is not founded upon the size of its congregation but by the greatness of God’s presence in that congregation.

Jesus said in Matthew 16:18 I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail…

Be conscious that Christ is not only the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2) but that He is also the builder of your church! And be involved in what Jesus is building!

And it is the same when it comes to your life. If you are desiring a bigger and better life; if you feel where you are and what you have is too small then start seeing your God as mighty, powerful and bigger than what you are seeing Him – and watch what happens in your life!
